Perfect Season? No Problem.

Nino Schurter’s UCI Cross Country Mountain Bike history making sixth-in-a-row in Val di Sole caps an absolutely legendary season

If you’ve been watching the race for second place in this year’s UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, you’ve had a moving target. In the race for the top spot the men’s podium, however, there’s only one name to remember — Nino Schurter.

Schurter, who earned both the Olympic Gold Medal and UCI World Championship Rainbow Jersey in 2016, attacked 2017 with the momentum of a high-speed train. On May 21, he won the opening round in the Czech Republic. A week later he repeated in Germany. He won in Andorra. He won on home turf in Switzerland. He flew across the Atlantic and won in Canada. And on Sunday, August 27, 2017, the Scott – SRAM rider finished his perfect UCI World Cup season with a hard-fought but completely dominant win in Italy.

Equipped with a SRAM XX1 Eagle™ drivetrain, SRAM Level Ultimate brakes and a RockShox SID World Cup fork, the champ’s Scott Spark rode to those six World Cup wins without a single hiccup.

Swiss XC star Jolanda Neff signals she’s back to top form and ready for Worlds with a perfectly executed win at Val di Solé

Jolanda Neff likes big wins. The Kross Racing Team rider has collected four World Championship Golds and a couple World Cup overalls. Basically, her race résumé won’t fit neatly on a single sheet of paper.

On Sunday, the Swiss XC star showed that she is back on form — after a bit of a rocky season — and ready to shoot for another World Championship medal in a couple of weeks in Australia. Neff simply dictated the women’s race from the gun, and could not be matched.
